Roots For Her expands

Coty Canada Inc of Montreal, Quebec, will launch a C$500,000-advertising campaign to promote its Roots For Her fragrance nationally. The perfume, which was introduced in Nov 1998, but was limited to Roots retail stores, will now be sold in The Bay, Sears and Eaton's department stores all over Canada. Coty Canada's advertising campaign will include full-page ads in Canada's top fashion magazines, billboards, mall posters, Omnin columns and transit cards.

Parasuco Jeans of Montreal, Quebec, is one of the more daring marketers in the jeans market. For instance, its moving posters, which launched in fall 1998, created an illusion of movement and became very popular. Tge campaign developed by Mediavation Inc was worth $1 million. Many of the firm's print ads also feature visible minorities who are often in lewd positions which have elicited angry outbursts from observers.
