Yahoo! to buy Geocities in stock deal
Article Abstract:
Geocities has agreed to be acquired by Yahoo! for $3.56 billion in stock. Industry analysts, who have observed a new wave of consolidation in the online industry, believe that the merger will create a much more powerful presence for Yahoo! on the World Wide Web. Yahoo!, which is widel-regarded as one of the most important Internet portal sites, has been trailed by second-place America Online Inc. and third-place Geocities.

Yahoo's may win HotJobs bid
Article Abstract:
Yahoo Inc.'s unsolicited takeover offer for HotJobs.com Ltd. will be accepted by the latter. HotJobs said it would accept the $436 million (497.2 million euros) bid as long as TMP Worldwide Inc. does not increase its own bid.
