Your health, in small doses only
Article Abstract:
Liquor is sold in small bottles in South Carolina, and this rule was introduced in 1976, as a way of easing a previous ban on alcohol in restaurants and bars. Mini-bottles increased in size as part of a move to metric measurements, and the level of traffic accidents is high. The range of products available in this size is limited. There is pressure for a repeal of the mini-bottle rule from a range of interests, including the Hospitality Association of South Carolina, though there are procedural and other obstacles to repeal.

Much more than a good night out
Article Abstract:
Nightclubs have become big business in London, England, and benefit from a fashion for dance music and the cosmopolitan culture of London. Licensing laws in London have also become more relaxed. Ministry of Sound is market leader with a forecast turnover of 40 million pounds sterling for 1999. The club brings only part of the revenue, and has helped to develop an important brand name. Ministry of Sound's global ambitions could lead to a loss of London custom, but this is not important if the overseas business performs well.
