Comcast expects to buy two regional sports networks

Philadelphia, Penn.-based Comcast Corp., which is a cable television company, is in negotiations to acquire two Viacom Inc. holdings, Midwest Sports Channel and Home Team Sports. The deal would give Comcast access to big sports markets in the Minneapolis/Milwaukee area and the Baltimore/Washington DC area.

Disney skates on thin ice, but Comcast hasn't won yet
Article Abstract:
The nation's largest cable company Comcast surprised Wall Street with a $66 billion bid for Disney in the first week of February 2004. Comcast CEO Brian L. Roberts and Disney CEO Michael D. Eisner should persuade shareholders and board members to endorse the deal and the analyst expect Comcast to raise its offer if the Walt Disney board rejects Comcast's bid.

Comcast wanted 'friendly' merger but is prepared to do what it must
Article Abstract:
Comcast sets to make friendly transactions with Disney. This could be done by increasing the amount of Comcast stock offered for each Disney share. Other options related to merging of the two firms are also discussed.
