NovaCare ponders turning one company into two
Article Abstract:
NovaCare Inc. CEO Tim Foster announced that the company's outpatient rehabilitation clinics and its Medicare-dependent skilled-nursing services could be spun off into separate firms or could become independent firms through a "carve-out." A couple of Wall Street investment bankers, Wasserstein Perella & Co. and Salomon Smith Barney have been delegated by King of Prussia, PA-based NovaCare to recommend means on how to best proceed with its plans. Foster stressed that the company believes that its outpatient rehabilitation and the Medicare segment should be run and promoted differently since they are two separate businesses.
