Operating earnings decline at Cigna

Philadelphi, Penn.-based Cigna Corp. has announced that it will benefit from rising fees for health maintenance organizations. Cigna, which reported third quarter operating profits of $281 million compared to $286 million in the corresponding period a year earlier, has 14 million customers for its HMO services and indemnity plan.
