Lender's continuing SEC woes
Article Abstract:
American Business Financial Services Inc., in a regulatory filing on December 17, 2004, stated that it thought it could repay holders of unsecured notes even if federal regulators did not approve a new sale of debt to the public but refused six days later on December 23, 2004. This turnaround highlights the company's difficulties with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that is holding up the approval of the new sale since October 2004.
