Report says CEO looted Hollinger

Conard Black, the former chief executive officer of Hollinger International Inc. looted the newspaper publishing company of hundreds of millions of dollars to indulge his appetite for private jets and club memberships. It is reported that parent of Hollinger International Black and David Radler pocketed more than $400 million form Hollinger International, or 95.2 percent of its adjusted net income from 1997 to 2003.

The reason behind a CEO of a company plundering an enterprise that was paying him millions of dollars a year in cash and stock is difficult to be found. Some mental-health experts are trying to analyze the reason for their behavior and feel the outsize pay packages present a moral hazard to the corporate titans in America and feel that CEOs become greedier when they become rich.
