Article Abstract:
The Isle of Man is situated at the center of the British Isles in the middle of the Irish Sea. The Isle of Man is a dependency of the British Crown. The economy of the Isle of Man was traditionally based on agriculture and fisheries. By 1981-82 the contribution of of agriculture, fisheries, and forestry comprised only one percent of the island's income. In 1981-82, the island's finance sector contributed 22.7 percent and its manufacturing industry contributed 14.7 percent of the income. There is legislation for sole traders, partnerships, companies, banking, insurance trusts, and unit trusts. A free port is launched where goods can be manufactured, processed and stored without payment of customs duty, and subsequently exported.

Continental Airline facility
Article Abstract:
The Continental Airlines facility in Houston, TX, received the Best of Category award in the environments category of the 1992 I.D. Annual Design Review. Continental Airlines retained the services of Smith-Miller + Hawkinson Architects to achieve a corporate identity through its buildings. The facility was characterized as possessing a complexity that gives an impression of flight and speed. This effect was achieved using overhead canopies shaped like wings, generous skylights and glass panels to let in plenty of light and exposed steel rods and fittings to delineate geometric shapes.

Strategic Market Planning in the Commercial Airline Industry
Article Abstract:
strategic marketing planning techniques is studied. Specifically, the extent to which the companies are aware of the formal methods, the problems encountered when using the formal techniques, and how their methods compare to other industries are studied. Results indicate that the use of formal procedures varies widely throughout the industry. Large firms are most likely to use the formal procedures. Some companies have developed their own strategic planning methods.
