Company treasurers are often confronted with capital investment decisions in light of too little investment information that sometimes limit their decision-making to trial-and-error ventures. There are many investment tools that treasurers can use but information about them and their potential uses may sometimes be limited. Moreover, uncertainty with regards business cycles compound investment problems further.

Financial accounting software installation can be very difficult as there are inherent weaknesses, retraining and software vendor differences to deal with. Other considerations include organizing software with corporate operations in mind and legacy computer systems that could also serve as potential pitfalls unless planned for and implemented carefully with the considerations in mind.
