Induction of human cytotoxic T lymphocytes by artificial antigen-presenting cells
Article Abstract:
A promising therapeutic approach for a number of diseases can be found in the adoptive transfer of antigen-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs). Stable artificial antigen-presenting cells (AAPCs) that can be used to stimulate T cells in any patient of a given human leukocyte (HLA) type are estabblished, thuis overcoming the difficulty in generating specific CTLs.

The ABCs of artificial antigen presentation
Article Abstract:
Artificial antigen presentation helps in increasing the speed of establishment of therapeutic cellular immunity and the artificial antigen-presenting cells (AAPCs) stimulate the expansion of the optimal therapeutic features of T cells before therapeutic infusion. Artificial antigen-presenting systems consist of cell-based and acellular technologies, which focus on potency, antigen specificity and biosafety as measures for possible clinical use.

A genetic strategy to treat sickle cell anemia by coregulating globin transgene expression and RNA interference
Article Abstract:
A genetic strategy to treat sickle cell anemia by coregulating globin transgene expression and RNA interference is presented. The strategy demonstrates the feasibility and therapeutic potential of coregulating transgene expression and RNA interference in hematopoietic stem cells.
