A description presents the unusual objects which constitute a traveling exhibition 'Haptic-Awakening the Senses', initiated by a distinguished designer Kenya Hara, who wishes to close the gap between technology and feeling. Hara is obsessed with three design principles consisting of the senses, exformation and emptiness that he explains and defines through his new project, and for which observers have to rely on their sensory perceptions to derive significance from the objects.

Scary cute

A narration of the launching and creation of numerous designer toys in Japan and the spread of designer toy culture in the West is presented. These toys portray a mixture of the cute and scary, beauty and violence, innocence and evil, and while some are undeniably Japanese, others clearly reveal the American cultural influence.
