Kellogg price cuts: cereal killers
Article Abstract:
Kellogg has had to reduce the price of breakfast cereals by almost 20% for a number of brands due to price competition in the USA. Post Cereals previously cut prices in April 1996. Kellogg should benefit in the longer term, though initially the cuts will affect the company's results. Some smaller companies in the industry may be hit. Meanwhile, grain prices have risen and this also affects the margins of breakfast cereals producers.
