A nibble of your nest egg
Article Abstract:
United Kingdom investors have found it more difficult to invest for income, since interest rates have dropped. Inflation can erode capital, even when inflation is at low levels. Risk levels affect returns, and returns from very low risk products tend to be insufficient to live on. Stocks can provide better returns, and risks can be reduced by using pooled investments. Medium-risk distribution bonds are another alternative. Capital erosion can be a problem with some types of bonds, especially high income bonds. Split-capital trusts and annuities are other products that provide an income.
