A place on the map
Article Abstract:
Graphic artist and illustrator Elaine Lustig Cohen emerged from the shadow of her equally illustrious and prolific husband Alvin Lustig to create her own career. Cohen was forced to finish the projects that Lustig left after his death in 1955, which clients expected Cohen to finish despite years of being unproductive in Lustig's studio. Cohen has worked widely in book cover illustration and signage with a modernist aesthetic that pervades her work.
