Adaptec Inc.'s new product cycle should have resulted in its maintenance of a strong market share but stock prices went down by 20% from a record $45 per share in Jan. 1997. Ten company officials sold an accumulated 182,692 shares ranging from $35.6 3-$39.04 per share. Officer Robert Stephens sold 22,500 shares with plans to dispose of another 97,500 shares. VP Christopher O'Meara disposed of 16,674 shares while Director B.J. Moore sold 18,000 shares. VP Drew Hoffman and Director Phillip White disposed of 6,000 shares and 5,000 shares respectively. VP Andrew Brown also sold 4,500 shares.

Anadigics' shares have increased by 50% since Nov. 1996 due to the positive effect of digital innovations on wireless communications industry. Fluctuations in prices, which ranges from $25 to $35 per share, however, is attributable to insider trading in the company. Eight executives have disposed of a total of 233,373 shares from Feb. 4 to Feb. 26, 1997. Director Charles Burton, Officer Robert Bayruns, VP Sheo Khetan, Officer and Director Gilbert George, Pres. Ronald Rosenzweig and Director Paul Bachow have disposed of their largest open-market sales since their initial filings.
