AIA Chief hits anti-offset measure
Article Abstract:
According to John Douglass, President, and Chief executive officer of the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA), the U.S aerospace industry could face the loss of billions of dollars in sales and ten thousands of jobs if a 'defense trade reciprocity' provision of the 2005 National Defense Authorization Act were to become law. The AIA states that the enactment of the provision on offset trade agreements among nations would cut into a category of U.S trade that is running healthy surpluses, and possibly derail the U.S. aerospace industry's currently healthy economic progress.
