AIA Chief hits anti-offset measure
Article Abstract:
According to John Douglass, President, and Chief executive officer of the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA), the U.S aerospace industry could face the loss of billions of dollars in sales and ten thousands of jobs if a 'defense trade reciprocity' provision of the 2005 National Defense Authorization Act were to become law. The AIA states that the enactment of the provision on offset trade agreements among nations would cut into a category of U.S trade that is running healthy surpluses, and possibly derail the U.S. aerospace industry's currently healthy economic progress.

AIA: Aerospace outlook good, despite uncertainties
Article Abstract:
John Douglass, president of the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA), a trade organization based in Arlington, has an overall positive picture for the aerospace industry, specifically noting the prospects for defense acquisitions. Despite the uncertainties that accompany a new post -Cold-war era and the Pentagon's signals to curtail programs such as the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF), the defense industry's aviation sector may look forward to relatively stable times ahead, in terms of acquisitions.
