Article Abstract:
Powerhouse Reources may take legal action against English Trust which Powerhouse claims carried out inadequate due diligence so advised Powerhouse wrongly. This led to alleged fraud by the chairman of Powerhouse, Malcolm Stone. The UK Securities and Futures Authority has fined English Trust for failings relating to a share issue by Powerhouse in Jan 1995. The right place at the right time
Article Abstract:
Infrastructure construction in Slovenia has been stimulated by separation from Yugoslavia and plans to join the European Union (EU). Investment in highways and railroads is geared to linking Ljubljana, the capital, with industrial centers, and improving access to the port of Koper, in addition to setting up a corridor from west to east across the Alps. Four fifths of construction contracts have been awarded to local firms, and Italian firms have been awarded many of those remaining.

Transport is the acid test
Article Abstract:
The UK government is seeking to attract private investment for a number of transport schemes. The government is paying shadow tolls for some road schemes, with companies paid according to usage of the road. It is difficult for companies to asses the returns they may achieve from investing in such projects. The bidding process is competitive and valuing bids is not easy. Successful operation of schemes is also important, as well as the construction phase.
