A very important step overlooked with takeovers and mergers is properly managing the human aspect of change, meaning, keeping employees happy. Failure to address the human aspects early enough in a change program is one reason why changes so rarely deliver the promised benefits and why mergers and acquisitions do not always fulfill shareholder expectations.
