Article Abstract:
United Technologies Corp., West Palm Beach, Fla., is being awarded a $41,626,419 face value increase to a cost-plus-award-fee contract to provide for the CY1999 Component Improvement Program (CIP) in support of the F100 engines on the F-15 and F-16 aircraft. The CIP provides contractor engineering and test support to address service-related operational problems and to reduce engine operating and support costs. The contractor shall develop improvements in durability, reliability, and maintainability in support of the aforementioned engines. The work will be performed in their plant in East Hartford, Conn. The work is expected to be completed in Dec. 1999. At this time, $15,000,000 of the contract funds have been obligated. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33657-97/C-0017, P00019).

General Electric Co., Cincinnati, Ohio was awarded on Dec. 22, an $18,756,257 face value increase to a firm-fixed-price contract to provide for 107 Digital Electronic Controls applicable to the F110-GE-100B engine on the F-16C aircraft. The work is expected to be completed in Dec. 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
