All change - again
Article Abstract:
Stockbrokers in north west England are undergoing consolidation. Brewin Dolphin plans to acquire Wise Speke, and further takeovers are likely as companies seek to boost their market shares. Shaw and Co has been acquired by Charles Stanley from Fortis, and this and the Wise Speke acquisition both affect broking in Manchester, England. In Liverpool, England, Rathbone has acquired Neilson Cobbold following the acquisition of Laurence Keen. Succession problems among independents are also tending to encourage consolidation.
