An animated debate
Article Abstract:
The technique of rotoscoping was invented by cartoonist Max Fleischer in 1917. In rotoscoping, a device is used to project live-action, filmed footage onto the animator's drawing board. From there, the image is traced and lifelike images are produced and animated. While proving economical and long-lived, rotoscoping never gained widespread acceptance among animators, who continued to use it but only for background action. In 2001, film director Richard Linklater produced a full-length rotoscope feature called "Waking Life," which has revived and updated the technique.

Eric Owen Moss
Article Abstract:
Eric Owen Moss, a Los Angeles native, is one of the leading architects of Southern California. The site of Moss's work and his office is Culver City, the largest industrial base in United States. From the early 1980s, a local developer Frederick Smith began turning some of the disused warehouses and factories into workers' homes. Smith hired Moss to design the factories so that they could be subdivided into smaller offices. Gradually the reconstructions expanded and became complex as cultural facilities were also added. Moss is trying for commissions from abroad.
