Apple's fall harvest

Apple Computer tends to perform well in the third qtr of each year since it holds a strong stake in the market for educational computers. There have been reports of shortages of parts for Apple computers, but the company has performed well. Apple has increased its market share and could have begun a new phase of stronger performance in 1995, following the departure of senior staff and some poor results. Meanwhile International Business Machines has seen a fall in its market share.

Apple crumbles
Article Abstract:
Apple Computer has seen a drop in the company's share price, and Apple has stated that earnings for 4th qtr 1995 are likely to be lower than previous forecasts. The company has seen rising demand for its PC computers which it has had difficulty meeting. Apple's technological lead had been eroded with the release of Windows 95 and further market share could be lost to machines using Windows. Apple has also had a problem with staff computers catching fire due to a battery problem.
