Article Abstract:
Alliant Techsystems Inc., Hopkins, Minn., was awarded on June 12, 1998, a $9,462,452 firm-fixed-price contract (base amount is $8,005,362, with $1,457,090 option), to procure components of the M87A1 VOLCANO Canister Assembly. The two items are 31,500 units of the Electronics-Magnetic Coupling Device (E-MCD) Assembly and 31,500 units of the Borerider Pin Release Mechanism (BPRM). This award also includes an option for 5,296 units of each component. Work will be performed in Hopkins, Minn. (14.33%); Janesville, Wis. (11.34%); Horsham, Pa. (6.21%), and at various other locations in the continental United States (68.12%), and is expected to be completed by Oct. 30, 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on March 2, 1998. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Tank-automotive & Armaments Command, Picatinny Arsenal, N.J. (DAAE30-98-C-1069).
