Article Abstract:
Colsa Corporation, Huntsville, Ala., is being awarded a $2,938.200 increment as part of a $18,520,737 cumulative total cost-plus-award fee contract to provide facility support, operation, and engineering support of the Advance Research Center Testbed (ARC) which is opened by U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, (USASMDC), Space and Missile Defense Battle Lab. The ARC began as a research facility with heavy emphasis on conducting on conducting Research, Development, Test and Engineering (RDT&E). The Operation and Maintenance of the facility has increased to respond to demands for more sophisticated technology, more advanced software applications, and expanding network capabilities and services. The ARC is a research facility that allows ARC customers the capability to examine their requirements (1) by serving as a focal point for government agencies and contractors conducting research, development, integration and test, verification and validation, analysis and operational concept studies; (2) supporting experimentation, exercises, and evaluation of advanced distributed software technologies, advance realtime algorithm technologies, and advance competing hardware/software and; (3) providing the resources to develop, evaluate, and demonstrate advanced space and missile defense and Warfighter concepts. Work will performed in Huntsville, Ala., and is expected to be completed by Feb 15, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 50 bids solicited on Aug 21, 1998 and 3 bids received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Space and Strategic Defense Command, Huntsville, Ala (DASG60-98-C-0047).

Raytheon Peninsula Systems Co., Tewksbury, Mass., is being awarded a $7,160,053 firm-fixed-price/cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for technical assistance for the United Arab Emirates HAWK Missile Program. Work will be performed in the United Arab Emirates and is expected to be completed by Feb. 15, 2000. This is a sole source contract initiated on Oct. 9, 1998. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala. (DAAH01-99-C-0035).
