Article Abstract:
TLT Construction Corp., Wakefield, Mass., is being awarded a $7,775,700 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a Military Operations on Urbanized Terrain (MOUT) Training Complex consisting of a nonlive-fire company collective training facility (CTF). The primary facilities of the company CTF include a command control tower and construction of 32 buildings, with gravel streets and parking, a bridge, drainage canal, underground sewer network, and other features to simulate an urban setting, as well as an access road, water well and pump house, septic tanks with drainfields, covered training area, range support building and latrines. Work will be performed at Fort Bragg, N.C., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 65 bids solicited on June 24, 1998, and seven bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah, Ga. (DACA21-98-C-0066).

United Defense LP, Ground Systems Division, York, Pa., is being awarded a $12,882,991 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for manufacturing technical assistance in support of Egypt co-production of 50 M88A2 Hercules vehicles. Work will be performed in Cairo, Egypt (60%), and York, Pa. (40%), and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on May 28, 1998. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command, Warren, Mich. (DAAE07-98-C-X005).
