High-tech PR firms take aim at Weber Shandwick

Weber PR's merger with Shandwick on Jan 1, 2001 will form the largest public relations firm, Weber Shandwick (WS). With expected annual fees of $320 million and high-technology income of $120 million, WS will surpass both Burston-Marsteller (BM) and Fleischman-Hillard Inc (FH). In 1999, BM had $275 million in annual fees, and FH had $120 million in high- technology income. Interpublic Group of Cos Inc's Allied Communications Group Chmn Larry Weber will head WS.
