Bank privatization in developing and developed countries: cross-sectional evidence on the impact of economic and political factors
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the factors that affect a country's decision to privatize state-owned banks, like political, institutional and economic aspects, is presented. These factors governing the decision to privatize state-owned banks are also examined from the perspective of developed and developing countries. In developing countries, other than non-OECD countries, political factors play a very important role.

The economics of privatization
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the privatization of state owned banking sectors is presented. Privatization improves the efficiency of state owned banks but not to the extent of non-financial industries. The participation of foreign banks in privatization of large state owned banks is beneficial economically, but has political repercussions.
