Banks's mission
Article Abstract:
VTR produces TV programs and provides TV and motion picture facilities. The company's managing director is John Banks who has decided against further acquisitions, since some past acquisitions have caused problems. These acquisitions include Portman, a distributor and producer of TV programs, and Advanced Media Group (AMG). VTR benefits from strong demand for its services, and some divisions are performing well. Banks sees Portman's problems as having been tackled, while AMG has had its multimedia business closed. VTR could achieve a group profit of between 2 million pounds sterling and 2.2 million pounds in 1998.
