Basic 'copter deal paves way for more
Article Abstract:
Westland has received an order for 15 EH-101 helicopters from the Canadian government. A previous order for 50 EH-101 helicopters had previously been cancelled by Canada. A further order for EH-101 aircraft could come from the Canadian navy, though there will be competition from US companies. There could also be civil orders for EH-101 helicopters. Westland accounts for a quarter of the turnover of GKN, and the company's only new program for helicopters is the EH-101.

Hansom: rough riding
Article Abstract:
Hansom shareholders have replaced Peter Jennings as chairman of the company with Jonathan Mervis while Adrian Palmer is the new managing director. The company paid too much for 163 cabs purchased from Stewarts Garages, according to investors. Legal action is being taken over the deal which meant that depreciation charges were increased in FY 1996. The company forecast a profit of 1.6 million pounds sterling for 1996 to 1997 but may not even achieve 400,000 pounds.
