Brisk will deliver plugs to Lamborghini
Article Abstract:
Brisk (Tabor, Czech Republic), sparking plug manufacturer, will supply about 1,000 special engine sparking-plugs to Lamborghini Motori Marini (LMM) (Italy). LMM will mount the plugs onto 12-cylinder engines for motor boats. Brisk has become the exclusive supplier of sparking plugs for LMM. Brisk invests about CEK 40-60 mil in development every year. It produces about 35 mil automotive engine sparking plugs inland every year. In 2001 the firm started supplies for the engines of Skoda Fabia cars with an output of 50 kW. The firm will supply catchers for the turbo-Diesel engines TDI of Volkswgen. Brisk also supplies plugs for the engines of the automotive company Avtovaz (Russia). In Russia, Brisk produces about 12-15 mil sparking plugs per year at its plant. The firm's outputs amounted to CEK 497.7 mil in 2000, CEK 104 mil more compared to 1999. Brisk exported about 60% of its production to more than 50 countries in 2000. The proceeds for its products increased by CEK 92 mil to more than CEK 466.2 mil in 2000 compared to 1999.

The number of cars is the same

Czech Republic: A total of 3,431,573 cars were registered in the central car register at the end of 2000, nearly 100 more compared to 1999. Their age decreased by 0.2 year to 13.51 years. The most imported used car make was Ford with 7,200 pieces, further Renault with 6,400 pieces and Peugeot with 5,600 pieces in 2000. The number of inhabitants was about three per car. About 2.22 inhabitants fall to one car in Prague and 3.73 inhabitants in northern Moravia.

Car sales stagnate
Article Abstract:
Czech Republic: Car importers plan to increase their sales by about 3.5% in 2001 compared to 2000. Domestic manufacturers and official importers sold a total of 65,553 new cars in the Czech Republic for Jan-May 2001. The number was 214 cars higher compared to the same period in 2000.
