The government has given investment incentives to IBM
Article Abstract:
IBM (US), computer company, plans to build a centre for the control of firm computer networks in Brno, the Czech Republic, by 2005. The Czech government has supported the project with investment incentives, which will include mainly a 50% income tax reduction for a 10-year period. The state will also cover a part of the costs on staff training. The investment costs on the construction should be CEK 360 mil. The centre will have 200 employees including 160 university graduates during the first stage. A condition for the investment incentives for the project is that at least 40% of proceeds will come from foreign clients. According to available information, the centre should work mainly for clients in the UK and Germany.
