CNO Mullen: Navy must build more ships, but at a lower cost
Article Abstract:
The chief of naval operations (CNO), Admiral Michael Mullen, states that the sea service must build more ships, but cost of those vessels must drop. Mullen believes that those cost reductions can come partly from the Navy dropping unrealistic systems requirements from ships, in addition to cost efficiencies being initiated by defense contractors.
