Changes in stature following plyometric drop-jump and pendulum exercises
Article Abstract:
Eight male sports club members aged 21.7 + 1.8 years participated in an experiment performed to compare the changes in stature following plyometric drop-jump and pendulum exercises. A purpose-built stadiometer was used to measure stature changes following the initial 20-minute standing period, the two minutes after exercise, and again after the 20-minute standing recovery. An analogue visual scale was then used to assess muscle and back pain. Results showed a significant degree of spinal loading, as evidenced by changes in stature following performance of the two exercises.

Repeatability of stature measurements in individuals with and without chronic low-back pain
Article Abstract:
An investigation was carried out to determine whether individuals with non-disabling mechanical chronic low-back pain (CLBP) could achieve repeatable stature measurements. The findings support the use of stadiometry in a standing posture as a highly repeatable method of measuring changes in stature in both CLBP and asymptomatic groups.

Repeatability of measurement in determining stature in sitting and standing postures
Article Abstract:
The spines of test subjects were measured in sitting and standing positions to assess stadiometer repeatability. Three measurement series were required in the sitting position before measurement repeatability was assured, while the standing posture required only two.
