Changes in the force development characteristics of muscle following repeated maximum force and power exercise
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to establish the physical and temporal characteristics of post-activation potentiation (PAP) of muscle function in elite male athletes following maximum strength and power exercise. Results showed that post-activation potentiation does bring about increased force development capability following intense exercise and that the temporal profile of the post-activation potentiation changes with intensity of the exercise used to induce it.

An electromyographic investigation of abdominal exercises and the effects of fatigue
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of five commonly performed abdominal exercises and the effects of fatigue on these exercises. Results showed that exercises could be constructed to provide a greater challenge to abdominal muscles, and fatiguing exercise results in the lower rectus abdominis (LRA) and upper rectus abdominis (URA) being more highly activated.

A comparison of muscle strength and flexibility between the preferred and non-preferred leg in English soccer players
Article Abstract:
A study was designed to determine whether asymmetry in strength and flexibility are present in the legs of soccer players. It is shown that the lower strength of the knee flexor muscles of the preferred leg may be associated with the differential use of this muscle during the kicking action and thus constitutes a unique training effect associated with soccer.
