Changing pattern of acquisition behavior in takeovers and the consequences for acquisition processes
Article Abstract:
A recent UK study of forty acquisitions is used as a basis for an analysis of why half of the acquisitions in the US and UK corporate market since 1985 have failed. The findings of the study are compared with historical research by Kitching (1967, 1973). The historical research theories were found to not be sufficient to explain reasons for success or failure of acquisitions. The major findings of current research suggest that the behavioral process initiated by targeting, bidding, negotiating, and implementing are crucial for the success of mergers or acquisitions.

Capabilities, business processes, and competitive advantage: choosing the dependent variable in empirical test of the resource-based view
Article Abstract:
It was argued that in some circumstances adopting the effectiveness of business process as a dependent variable might be more appropriate way to test resource-based logic than adopting overall firm performance as a dependent variable. The other way was to provide a specific test of resource-based logic at the business process level.
