Chinese shares dominate new issues
Article Abstract:
Initial public offerings of stock on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKSE) recently have been dominated by issues from companies located in mainland China. The IPO of Angang New Steel, the first Chinese IPO to hit the HKSE since reunification, was a success, as was the second issue, an IPO by China Southern Airlines that simultaneously was also offered in New York. Chinese IPOs have helped to propel the HKSE to record levels.
