Off the hook for now - but wait for later
Article Abstract:
Stock warrants have become more attractive in comparison with stocks following the Jul 1997 United Kingdom budget since the abolition of dividend tax credits does not affect them. Warrants could be affected by later changes in capital gains tax if this affects short-term gains. Warrants allow investors to gain exposure with lower capital commitment than buying stocks. Investors should not seek quick profits but should choose warrnats that can be held over the long term.

Article Abstract:
Taunton Cider has seen its share price affected by competition from cheaper brands, but competition in this market segment appears to be easing. Taunton ranks first among UK suppliers of cider for private label brands for supermarkets and demand for private label brands is increasing more rapidly than lower-cost brands. The cider market continues to grow in volume terms. The company's profits are forecast at 21.5 million pounds sterling for 1995 by Hoare Govett.
