Computer key switch force-displacement characteristics and short-term effects on localized fatigue
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to measure short term effects of localized muscle fatigue and discomfort relating to computer key switch force and travel by comparing surface electromyography amplitude for constant index finger exertion in the same posture used for key tapping before and after the task. Among other results, it was found that the subjects experienced statistically significantly less discomfort when make force was reduced. Other results and implications of the study are discussed.

Under-reporting of work-related disorders in the workplace: a case study and review of the literature
Article Abstract:
A key factor in workplace safety involves accurate reporting of work-related conditions. A study was conducted to investigate the magnitude/possible reasons for under-reporting of accidents and the function of safety incentive programs. A case study is presented to illustrate the efficiency of suggested alternative approaches to minimize under-reporting. More research is required, however, to understand the actual efficacy of safety incentive programs.

Hourly trends in workers' compensation claims
Article Abstract:
Occupational injuries and resulting workers' compensation claims have been shown to vary in their pattern. Injuries and claims reportage appear to be influenced by the time of the day, day of the week, day of the month and seasons. Yet there are few studies available regarding this subject. A study was therefore conducted to address hourly trends in the reporting behavior of workers' compensation claimants based on recorded data.
