Article Abstract:
The Israel-Lebanon conflict in 2006 caused financial shock waves far beyond the area and while physical damage is being restored, the reoccurrence of strife has diluted the commodity most precious to business, namely, hope of stability. Some Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) members share their experiences about living and working in the still unquiet yet growing region.

The impact of the visits carried out by the Quality Assurance Directorate (QAD) on the practitioners and the consequences of the introduction of Practice Assurance (PA) are examined.
