Contractors still have a shot at up to $20 billion radio work

Contractors still have a chance to trap at least a portion of some $14 billion to $20 billion that the armed services would invest in the Joint Tactical Radio System over the next two or three decades. However, Boeing would not be the lead hardware provider in the new radio system that is designed to link ground, air and naval combatants in a network centric unity, fostering joint operations between the Army, Air Force, Marine Corps and Navy.

TeleContinuity Inc, a company formed in November 2001, has revealed that it has devised the means to meet the challenge of terrorist threats and help federal agencies get inline with mandates from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). It has combined its unique software with off-the-shelf hardware components to create a means of giving organizations a way of maintaining their telephone connections in the case of a catastrophic event.
