Contribution of soft tissue deformation below the sacrum to the measurement of total height loss in sitting
Article Abstract:
Research on vertical creep in sitting shows soft tissues beneath the sacrum can contribute up to 30% in total height loss. Researchers need to consider deformation in soft tissue outside the spine when analyzing vertical creep while sitting.

Adolescent versus adult responses to vertical spinal loading
Article Abstract:
An experiment to measure spinal creep, or the shortening of the spine, in seated positions for adolescent and adult males is analyzed. Topics include history of research in spinal creep, differences in spinal physiology for adolescents and adults, and experiment results indicating greater spinal creep for adolescents than for adults.

Effects of chronic low back pain, age, and gender on vertical spinal creep
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to investigates the effect of chronic low back pain, age, gender, and time, of measurement on the magnitude of vertical spinal creep (VSC) and its recovery. A mixed design, involving three independent variables, chronic low back pain, age and gender, and one repeated variable, time, was used.
