Crystal ball 144
Article Abstract:
Form 144 is filed by holders of restricted shares when they intend to sell stock. These unregistered shares have some selling restrictions such as the length of holding periods before the shares can be disposed of. The filing must be accomplished on or before the date of sale and must contain the name of the seller, name of the issuer, type of security, number of shares to be sold, price expected, among others. Analysis of form 144 filings can provide valuable signals to investors on whether to buy or sell some shares.

The good news ... bargain hunting spreads; the bad ... it's early
Article Abstract:
Some bargain hunting activities from insiders have been noticed as of mid-May 1993. There is a strong possibility, however, that it is too early to buy certain shares despite these insider accumulations. Investors can lose some money if they decide to buy shares prematurely. Investors should also realize that insiders are also subject to poor timing. Overall, caution is recommended for bargain hunters.
