Digby delights Deloitte after a Davos date

Sir Digby Jones, the current director general of the Confederation of British Industry has agreed to leave his current job and join Big Four firm Deloitte as a special advisor, wherein he would help in interpreting government decisions and also chair Deloitte's industry group. This was decided after a breakfast meeting at Davos between Jones and John Connolly of Deloitte.

Best-paid practitioner gets 15% pay hike

John Connolly, senior partner at Deloitte, has retained his title as the UK's highest paid accountant in practice. The firm has revealed that Connolly takes home a pay packet of $4.2 million in 2006, a jump of 15% from 2005.
