Wyevale Garden Centres
Article Abstract:
Wyevale Garden Centres has been affected by new UK Sunday legislation which has restricted the company's opening hours. Turnover for 1st half 1995 was reduced by between 3% and 4% due to this legislation, though the company recovered some of this loss by opening later at night. Garden and house plants account for some 50% of sales, and dry weather in spring 1995 followed by cold weather in Jun 1995 affected plant sales. Sales of garden furniture rose, compensating for this drop.
