Edison, NJ-based Princeton Photo Network's expansion plan includes acquiring 100 studios within three years. As of Sep 2000, the company has already purchased five photo shops in New Jersey, Delaware and Pennsylvania. According to the company, the studios it is looking for are those that have a reputation for quality performance. The company also prefers studios that employ four or five contract photographers.

Dunne and Rundle Ltd is marking its 70th anniversary as a family-owned and operated camera shop. The 2,000-sq-ft store is recognized as the oldest independent camera shop in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and the oldest photo retailer in Western Canada. Owner Reynold Newcombe, who runs the shop with his daughter Linda and son Daryl, has no immediate plans to sell, undertake a major advertising campaign, branch out into digital sales or change the family-like atmosphere around the shop.
