There are computer software tools available to companies to manage their electronic mail systems. These programs enable marketers to relay important messages to their clients and facilitate an interactive discussion. Most software tools also are capable of managing additions or deletions. Their scalability allows companies to deal with various types of electronic messages, including the removal of unwanted mails. Moreover, companies that cannot buy their own software or maintain their own mail server can lease electronic mail list managers directly or through third parties.

Companies are introducing new techniques to keep users on their World Wide Web sites. Pop-ups, which had been used in consumer sites, are now used in business-to-business marketing sites. Netscape Communications uses a pop-up on its home page which allows users to read about additional products and services. These techniques can also save space for companies on their home pages.
