Economic hope may curb N. Korean nukes appetite
Article Abstract:
North Korea is moving toward a free market-economy and has recently initiated experiments with markets using Chinese-style economic reforms, which may require it to choose between the achievement of its economic goals and continuing with its nuclear program. Despite the speculation on the number of nuclear bombs and the sophistication of their design following the first eyewitness confirmation of the presence of North Korean nuclear weapons, the nation's recent economic moves may result in the neutralization of North Korea as a threat to peace.
