Effects in live cells of a c-myc anti-gene PNA linked to a nuclear localization signal
Article Abstract:
Peptide nucleic acids (PNA) are synthetic homologs of nucleic acids. A PNA construct was used as an anti-gene agent in intact cells in culture. The PNA was connected to a nuclear localization signal.

Alteration of Cre recombinase site specificity by substrate-linked protein evolution
Article Abstract:
The authors applied directed molecular evolution to generate Cre recombinase variants that recognize a new DNA target sequence. They believe that the method will facilitate the development of new recombinases and other DNA-modifying enzymes for applications in genetic engineering, functional genomics and gene therapy.

Nuclear targeting peptide scaffolds for lipofection of nondividing mammalian cells
Article Abstract:
Researchers from the University of Pennsylvania improved the gene transfer of lipofected nondividing cells using a nuclear ribonucleoprotein conjugated to a peptide scaffold leading to viral- and lipid-free transfection of nondividing cells.
